Loose Fragments lived in Gainesville from about 1992-1997. During that time we brought funk, math rock, and avant-music to drunk people everywhere from Mississippi to Maine. We traveled in a blue Chevy Astro crammed with four guitars, an electric bass, a washtub bass, three amps, a drumset, a P.A. system, a portable vibraphone, tons of weird percussion and toys, our camping gear, and our Coleman stove which heated up the water that transformed many a box of potato flakes into a side dish with our Tabasco-soaked canned turnips and corn.

2006 REUNION

On April Fools 2006, we got together to play a 30-45 minute set at the Side Bar in Gainesville. We did it old school: no vocals or weird instruments or strange time changes, just instrumental funky stuff. That night, Super Insecto (featuring Chris and Craig from Soma), Rebecca Jean Smith, and Funky Miracle joined the fun. Kansas City Mack jumped up for the Spladow! tune, "Black Helicopter". A bunch of old townies came out of the woodwork: it was a fun reunion. Here's a few photos and a clip from the show: Rush Hour (6:14, 5.8MB).
